By now, you’ve probably heard of Google’s new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
They’re the first phones to use a 3D camera built into the back of the device, which means they’re the most affordable smartphone to buy in the U.S. and worldwide.
The Pixel 2, meanwhile, is a phone that’s both affordable and powerful, which is why it’s now the most sought-after Android smartphone of all time.
But there’s a more interesting possibility in play.
According to TechCrunch, Apple and the Google of the world are working on a new smartphone, which would be the world’s first truly 3D-capable phone.
And while we don’t have the specifics of the design yet, it seems that the device will feature the same dual-core Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 13-megapixel camera.
We’re still waiting on confirmation from the company, but the Verge is reporting that it’s expected to arrive sometime this fall, along with a slew of other Apple-specific accessories and accessories that Google’s rumored to be producing for the phone.
It’ll be interesting to see how Apple deals with the massive volume of 3D printers and software in its arsenal, especially if it comes to building its own phones.
